The horizontal reference lines for each shingle row allow a precise and rapid job. They simplify the work for applicators, and assure horizontal shingle rows when there is a dormer or other obstacle on the roof.

Felt installation:

  1. Start first felt row, from left to right, to completely cover the horizontal part of the metal drip edge. (See picture above).
  2. Start second felt row, from right to left, starting at the top continuous line of the first felt row.
  3. Start third felt row, from left to right, at the top dotted line of the previous felt row.
  4. Repeat numbers (2) and (3) for all other rows.

Note: The last row of felt must be parallel to the ridge. If the distance between the top and the bottom of the roof is equal from one end to the other, this last row will be parallel. If not, you must adjust each felt row to have the last row parallel to the ridge.

Shingle installation:

  1. Place starter row and the first shingle row in line with the drip edge and the felt.
Note: It is possible that the top part of the first row does not fall exactly on a reference line.
  1. Place the top edge of the other shingle rows on the full reference lines if the felt is unrolled from left to right or on the dotted lines if unrolled from the right to left.
